Our client is the global office furniture leader. His special focus is on creating the environment and tools to work better, faster and more effectively.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Design for the Environment European Group Leader, the Ecodesign expert will be in charge of helping product development teams in Germany to improve their understanding of the products environmental impact and help them make key decisions and take action to improve their environmental performance. To do so, he/she will perform Life Cycle Assessment on products as requested by projects. This position will also supply data, training and overall support to develop development standards. 

For the location in Rosenheim we are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic

Ecodesign expert (male/female)

The main tasks include:

• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of environmental issues to aid in decision making and standard implementation
• Execute Life Cycle Assessments on a wide range of Steelcase products
• Keep current with new LCA technologies, trends and requirements
• Represent Steelcase at scientific meetings and academic conferences in Germany
• Perform other transversal environmental projects as directed
 

Your profile:

• Bachelor´s degree in (Environmental) Engineering or similar qualification
• 3-5 experience in performing, managing, interpreting and/or communicating of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) whether from an academic, industry or other background would be a plus
• Proficiency using life cycle databases (Simapro would be a plus)
• Ability to structure own work and self-motivation
• Ability to work in a collaborative, international teaming environment and build relationships with internal clients
• Willingness to travel
• Ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audience
• Fluent in German, English (French is a plus)
